Artsonia!

Artsonia is a website that I am trying out for the first time this year with my students. So far, it's pretty awesome. I created a username for each student and an email has been sent to each parent (as long as one is on file in Skyward) asking for their account to be activated. Most of my students' have activated accounts. This week I had students begin to upload their artwork to the site. They can still upload it even without parent permission on the account, it simply won't be public on the web.

Artsonia is basically a permanent online digital portfolio of student artwork. Students take photos of their artwork in class and use the Artsonia app (on our new art room ipads) to upload their work to the site. Once I approve the images it is available for all to see on the web. Parents can even comment on the artwork via the website. The kids are really excited to see their work up on the site. A few have even asked if they could add art they've made outside of school or during 'free draw' time in class (for early finishers). Check out Hillcrest's Artsonia page here and see what we've got up there so far! :)
