6th Grade Graffiti Name Design

Lesson Objectives—Students will be able to....

• Identify street art.
• Identify the difference between graffiti and murals.
• Explain why illegal graffiti is not acceptable.
• Identify the graffiti ‘style’.
• Create a brick background using sponge stamping.
• Create a name ‘tag’ design using bubble letters in a selected style.
• Apply a 3D shadow behind name.
• Apply a set of analogous colors creatively inside the ‘tag’ with oil pastels.
• (optional) Apply splatters of paint with matching analogous colors to name on top of project.
