Fifth Grade Onomatopoeia Collages & Videos

Fifth grade has been creating onomatopoeia collages inspired by artist Roy Lichtenstein and his artwork titled 'Whaam!' pictured above. Some students have also had the opportunity to create videos adding sound and working with the 'Ken Burns Effect' of zooming in and out on their artwork in the video. This is just another amazing thing we are able to do now that we have five classroom iPads! Here's a link to my dropbox folder where I've been uploading them. Enjoy!  :)

Instagram! @hillcrestartroom

I've decided to create a Hillcrest Instagram for my classroom and all the amazing things the kids have been creating here. I know that many of my students are already on Instagram and not all of the content on there is all that amazing. So, I've decided that adding as much artwork to my Instagram will hopefully help to make what they're seeing on Instagram more positive. Students so far are so proud to see their projects displayed on my page and they can comment and share it with their friends.

I also understand that many parents do not allow some students to use Instagram. We discussed this in class and the students know they need to respect their parents' wishes. I promise to still try and share as much as I possibly can via this blog so students that don't have an Instagram account can still see our classroom's artwork online. Don't forget about all the art on Artsonia too!!
